PMP stands for both Pseudomyxoma peritonei (Cancer of the Appendix) and Precision Medicine Program. Jenny Gore Dwyer is a survivor of the former and a hopeful participant of the latter in trying to find a way to go BeyondALS.
I was recently filling out some forms at the Doctor's office. I came to the part of the form, where I had to check marital status. I became frozen: There was the big flashing "widowed." I am too young for this widowed life. I think of widowed as older, way older than 52, and having lived of life of accomplishments.
You can't �do� ALS alone. I know there are families facing ALS without any support. And I know how lucky I am: there are 10 Gore Girls that have each other�s back. It is an incredible support group. It is only one part of the support I have and must pass on.
As I sit here thinking about what I want to write, however, the only thing that keeps popping into my head is my handsome husband, Pat. I really can't write about life with ALS, or life “Beyond ALS”, without first talking about him.
